Mihai
Ritivoiu was born in Bucharest, Romania, in 1989. He began piano
lessons at age six. He is now studying at the National Music
University in Bucharest, with Professor Viniciu Moroianu. He attended
the masterclasses of renowned pianists and pedagogues such as Gabriel
Amiraş, Dimitri Bashkirov and Dominique Merlet. Since 2006, he has
been studying composition with Romanian composer Valentin Petculescu.
Mihai
Ritivoiu has won prizes in international and national competitions
such as: Concours
Musical de France,
Paris, 2002 – 1st Prize, International Piano Competition in San
Sebastian, Spain, 2004 – 2nd Prize, Jeunesses
Musicales
International Music Competition, Bucharest, 2006 – 1st Prize. Also,
he was awarded 1st Prize in the National Music Competition organized
by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, in 2006 and 2008.
In 2008 and 2009, Mihai was a scholar of the SoNoRo – Interferente
chamber music project, within which he performed in Italy and Romania
with Bernhard Naoki Hedenborg and Alexander Sitkovetski as chamber
music partners. He gave solo recitals and concerts in Romania. His
performances were recorded and broadcast live by Romanian National
Radio, and his most recent recital, that took place at the Recital
Hall of the Romanian Atheneum in Bucharest, was entirely recorded and
broadcast by Romanian National Television.
